I am lucky enough to lead this incredible team, that is committed to changing the way society interacts with language. l love what I do! I love how much data can tell us about how we interact with each other, and how we can use what we find out to improve the way the world works.
I spend most of my time spearheading our technological development, making sure the team has what they need, and raising awareness about how to harness language to improve people's lives.
I oversee the Communicate Project team and look after new projects, project awareness, funding, marketing and PR at Fluence. I am also one of the co-founders of the Fluence Foundation. Previously I have worked in marketing, recruitment and events before joining the Fluence team.
I love my job because I get to wear lots of hats - no two weeks are ever the same! Something you may not know about me. I am British and Swiss, so speak fluent English and German (well Swiss German), I also happen to love chocolate, but don’t discriminate as to where it comes from!
Great story! Germany midfielder Sami Khedira buys 1,200 World Cup qualifier tickets for disadvantaged children https://t.co/0piIbPNTbr

I am the project coordinator for all Communicate projects. I work directly with clients to help them implement their projects. I love working and interacting with so many different people and helping them get the most out of their projects. I am also a co-founder at the Fluence Foundation. I manage our community newsletters and I deliver Communicate training. There’s never a dull moment in Fluence. I am the chatty one. Life outside of works is just as busy – especially with a toddler to keep up with. I love the great outdoors, adventure and travel. I have worked in account management and marketing in technology-based companies but I joined this team 5 years ago, to help make a difference to people’s lives. I haven’t looked back since.
Norman is the co-creator of the Rapid English courses which are now incorporated into the Fluence brand. He is widely experienced in teaching having taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in Papua New Guinea, Morocco and France as well as co-authoring the "English Right from the Start" course books which were published by Penguin Books. He has run numerous intensive EFL courses in the UK for adults and young people for students from many countries. He has also taught widely in secondary and primary schools in the UK as well as developing Rapid English for the Youth Justice and Alternative Education sectors. He is currently working on the next generation of solutions so that Fluence can help many more people in the future. He is also a musician who plays the guitar and banjo.
My role is to train staff to deliver the Communicate Project to help young people become independent. I also find new projects and provide support for practitioners. Managing the social media accounts is part of my job too. I work for Fluence because I wanted a job where I feel I am still helping people to learn and reach their potential. Also I like talking to groups of people who are not allowed to get up and walk out. My background is in education I worked for 5 years as an Integration assistant in a special school and for 14 years in a junior school as a class teacher, PPA cover teacher, knight, pirate, and a Viking.
For ten years, I have had the privilege of delivering the program with learners. I work mainly with young people in Youth Offending Services and Pupil Referral Units, but I also work with schools and adults. I love helping someone learn something so fundamental, that it helps them move on in life and achieve their goals. I find the work immensely rewarding and there is never a dull day. I helped to develop the program and that, combined with my experience using it, means I regularly do support days to show new practitioners how to deliver it. Because I genuinely believe in the merits of what we are doing, I sometimes also get involved in telling others about the project.
In my spare time I play squash go to mixed martial arts and am a new father.
I look after the office and administrative side of the company, making sure we all have the information we need to run successful projects. I guess you would say I’m the nag of the business. I have over 15 years of business experience. Working at Fluence has taught me that business can be selfless, not selfish, and that’s what I like most.
When I’m not at work I’m kept out of trouble by looking after my daughters. I have a flexible job-role, which means I have the best of both worlds. I get to work with a great team and also spend valuable time with my children.
